What this site keeps track of.

Short version: I count visits, I see which companies stop by, and I watch how people move through the pages so I can make them better. I don't sell any of it.

What gets collected

When you visit dobetter.plus, five tools collect information about the visit:

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and pages viewed, and roughly where visitors are. It doesn't use cookies. Cloudflare's privacy policy
  • Leadfeeder looks up the company behind the internet address you visit from, and records which pages that company viewed. It uses cookies to recognize a return visit. It identifies companies, not people. Leadfeeder's privacy policy
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the pages: clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. I use it to see where pages are confusing. Anything you type is hidden before it leaves your browser. Microsoft receives this data and handles it under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag tells LinkedIn about the visit so I can see what kinds of businesses read the site and measure any LinkedIn ads. LinkedIn may recognize you if you have a LinkedIn account, but it only shows me totals, like industry, job function and company size, never who visited. It uses cookies. LinkedIn's privacy policy
  • RB2B looks up the company behind a visit and records which pages that company viewed. On the free plan I use, it shows me the company only. It uses cookies. RB2B's privacy policy

RB2B's notice

RB2B asks every site that uses it to publish this paragraph:

When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout. You also have the option to opt out of the collection of your personal data in compliance with GDPR by visiting https://www.rb2b.com/rb2b-gdpr-opt-out.

What doesn't happen

I don't sell or rent visitor information. LinkedIn only ever shows me totals. Apart from the company lookups above, the only personal information I get is what you choose to send: an email, the details you give when you book a call, or what you enter in the game.

The game

Survive Renewal Season asks for your email to show your full results. It's optional: you can skip it and still see your headline result. If you enter it, I get the email, the agency name you played as, and your score, and I keep them in my own records. I only send you DoBetter's occasional notes if you tick that box. If you write in "How can this game be better?", your comment comes to me by email. The game's messages are sent through Resend, an email delivery service.

Booking a call

Calls are booked through Zoom's scheduling page, so the name, email and time you enter there go to Zoom and to me. Zoom's privacy statement covers what Zoom does with it. I use it to hold the call and follow up, nothing else.

Saved in your browser

If you enter a lesson access code on the lessons page, your browser remembers that you've unlocked them so you don't have to type it again. That stays on your device.

How to opt out

Block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser or extension that blocks tracking scripts. The site works the same either way.

To opt out of RB2B, use either link in its notice above.

To ask what I have about you, or to have it deleted, email chris@dobetter.plus. You'll hear back within two business days.
